What is the Nordic Nexus?
In September 2025, the IFEAT Conference took place for the first time in the Nordic region and in none other than the beautiful city of Göteborg on the west coast of Sweden.
Göteborg is a historic gateway to the Nordic Region. It has a rich maritime heritage and a forward-thinking spirit that has made it global leader in environmental sustainability and innovation.
This is a dynamic marketplace. The Nordic essential oils and aroma market is experiencing consistent growth, with an annual growth rate of about 7%. But the Nordic Region also offers us itself – a whole array of natural resources for essential oils and aromas that are, of course, unique to its climate.
The 2025 Conference theme, the Nordic Nexus, recognised and celebrated not only the city of Göteborg and the country of Sweden, but the progressive values and spirit of sustainable innovation that permeate throughout the Nordic region.
